Jervose.. the view. Hello Singapore |
The world... or at least part of the world, is watching. Then I went to sleep.
We all went out to Susan's wedding party, where, I should note, I met Susan in the flesh for the first time, although we'd been friends (both Pisces) for nearly twenty years, via cyber space. Next to the story about how she and her new husband Tom met, our relationship seemed to be most interesting.
After the music began and several spicy drinks called Mrs. Grundy (which I didn't realize had alcohol in it), I got to make the rounds of Susan's friends, they all wanted to hear the story. I didn't think it was such a big deal, but when I looked at it from the perspective of the people I was talking to, I started to get it. How many relationships, in general, friendships, love affairs, partnerships, businesses, etc., last two decades? Susan and I managed to build and keep a friendship going from the dawn of the Internet through a chance encounter on America Online!
She was living in Queens at the time, I was in Philadelphia. We never did meet, but we exchanged pix.

Magic walked into the room sometime after midnight as I was chatting with an Indonesian Gypsy who was telling me how she bounced back and forth around Asia, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand and Malaysia - something to do with real estate, body guards were involved and with a few exceptions I became enamored with her lifestyle. "I've got to keep in touch with you, I told her," and we did.
Bally showed up with a crew of four, friends of Sylvie, the Gypsy real estate mogul, and eventually captured my attention. (It may have been more immediate than I remember.)
I can't even remember the first words that were exchanged, but something was clicking. Law of Attraction, Magnetism, Magic. In hindsight, I might wager that neither of us were in complete control of ourselves. For me, it was one of those moments that I could do or say no wrong; that I would not be misunderstood, regardless of how much of a smart ass I can be.
She was brash, super confident, so full of fire I thought I might have to withdraw, less I once again enter the den of the Lioness.
"I can feel your fire," I told her, chanting to myself, "Don't be Leo, Don't be Leo!"
I had to know... Aries! Whew!!

A side note... just in case you're actually reading this. My belief in astrology-based relationships has been self-manifesting and is based on experience. Despite the occasional run to the reference sites for confirmation, I can usually tell, by the conversations I have with people where they are on the sun chart. Because I pay attention and have a pretty good (bizarre, some say) memory, my accuracy has gotten better. On the metaphysical side - as I say this evangelical approach to sun signs and relationships - is shaped by my attitude and my belief in it, which I understand and don't apologize for.
I'd like to think my discipline, experience and downright fear of close relationships with Leo women would keep me from another disastrous relationship. I might add that the savvy Leo female, knows this is true. I mentioned I was Pisces to the Leo lady who checked me into the first flight, and we both knew that we knew.
Saturday night has moved into Sunday morning, February 28, which turned out to be a month to the day before Bally's birthday. She's born in March... good. This makes it easy to remember. I like coincidences even though I don't believe in them.
Romantic Pisces. Metaphysical alchemist. Believer in Fate and what is meant to be will happen and if it's meant to happen, nothing will stop it. Our tet-a-tet was familiar, challenges answered, and assurances that I recognized and appreciated her being... it was surreal and very natural. I felt her spirit beyond her words and by the end of that encounter, we'd become friends, maybe more.... maybe closer.
