Only I, Can Live in My House

I want to declare that "most people probably don't live like I do," however, I don't know how lost people live. Most people probably have furniture in their homes. Most people probably don't have an exercise studio, of sorts, set up in what's traditionally a dining room. I don't know how many people still live in row homes; they might be fairly common. This is far from bragging. At the turn of the 21st century I boosted my move towards minimalism. Little by little the furniture was discarded and the fitness and photo gear took over.

It's not what you think. I won't paint you a glorious image of a modern artist's living space. My spot is sparse but kind of junkie. I have milk crates where (I'm guessing) most people have shelves. It must be seen to be believed. I don't think it's so bad - it's just not what most people are used to. I like it just fine.

2011, when I still had my trampoline.

In a way, I've been preparing to leave since I got here. Ever so slowly emptying it out, while at the same time, not bringing too much stuff in. I don't welcome many visitor's either; it would take too much to tidy up and then clean up again. I'm far too lazy.

2004 taking up the carpet, still had TV
This year, not only do I have to clean up, I have to clean out. Music equipment is going to friends and family. I put the TV out, but they didn't take it. I stripped off the plastic, so recycling took that.

But anyway, back to the topic.

I have my house set up so that pretty much, only I can live in it. It's not that well insulated so I hang blankets between the downstairs rooms to keep warm... and I light candles. I don't use air conditioning in the summer; so far I've gone two summers straight (2014 & 15) without using it at all. I don't go out of my way to make myself uncomfortable, it's just that I have an attitude about comfort - it's not my friend - and I don't want to become dependent on it.

Some of the equipment that's spoken for.
As far as posts go, this is more rag-tag than most. I haven't covered the topic very well, but, no biggie. For the most part these are for me to look back on. I like to keep notes on different chapters of my life to look back on. This is my LIMBO period. I tend to resist change. And to be honest I have it pretty good right now; pretty easy... seniority at my job, two other part-time gigs that help me polish my fitness skills and public speaking skills, at the same time, I don't have a lot of expenses - but something is missing and I have to go out and find it, because I know it's not here.

If i could pick up everything I have, no so much the material stuff, and move it to someplace else, I would. However,  the move I make is really going to challenge my commitment to minimalism.

I plan to blog about that as well... maybe here.
