Climbing The Learning Curve

I'm two days into this smart phone thing and already I'm a bit overwhelmed. It was only yesterday that I got it activated and I installed a bunch of apps I think will benefit me during my travels. Then there were all the updates that needed to be installed and a couple of "taxi" invites from Stazja. Lyft came through ok, but Uber... something happened. I told myself, 'If I read the instructions, I'll be ok.' I'm not a complete novice at these things, I've been on the internet since 1994 and back then I could navigate my way around fairly successfully. These days however, there are a whole bunch of "apps" many of which are redundant and have icons that are not immediately intuitive to me. One thing I'm fairly confident about - it's not likely to explode or shut down on me if I hit the wrong sequence of keys/icons.

It's going to take me a while, if ever to add banking and "money" apps to the "device." I'm still old school in that regard, however I know when I'm "homeless" I'll have to duck into a Starbucks or some spot with wifi in case I have to take care of business. I plan to bring my laptop with me... and my tablet.. but you know...

I've told a few people I'm an old dawg learning new tricks, one, because I want to prove that old saying wrong, and two, I kind of like how I'm rolling approaching quarter age... it's all a matter of perspective, and relativity.

Since today is a non-workout day, (and probably no dinner... long fast), I decided to practice some graphics work. I'm planning a new downloadable magazine and I was experimenting with what and how I could layer a cover together in a program I haven't used much. I was laughing with a colleague at the gig about the Black Nerd Movement... and if it's even a movement... Anyway, from that convo this proto-cover emerged....
I have very little patience when it comes to computer graphics - but practicing helps me develop it. It's obviously photo-shopped, which is the point. I wouldn't use this anyway... I don't think it would "sell" issues... but then again it might.

I'm not exactly sure what this "Noxsoma" magazine will be about. I think I'll just let the ideas and experiences flow and then compile them together and post it up for sale on Amazon or something.

So many ideas - I guess I'm about to have more time to execute them.

Back to the "device." That sucker draws a lot of power, so it won't be long until you see me at a cafe, nursing a coffee, which I don't drink, with all my cords plugged into the wall, not having conversations with my fellow cafe-bots.

93 days out....
