Selfi'evals & Fitness Insurance

I finished up at the Y yesterday and as usual I was looking myself over in the mirror and wondering if I deserved a selfie. I thought that was pretty funny. I decided that I didn't.

It's harder to tell - and I've been writing about this a bit in my Bajai Boot Camp 6 Blog - whether I'm making "gains," becoming more defined, etc.. I have what i call the Fat Boy Four Pack, which is when the upper abs start to get defined and the lower body fat is just kind of hanging there, defiantly, daring me to eliminate it. Fat bastard!!!
Upper back eval July 2, 2016 - deserved it on THIS day.

So, right now I'm killing time before I head out into the soup for another workout. I've been going every other day, but once a week, I get two days in a row, because I teach a class at the Y, so I may get a Sunday-Monday... this week I'm going to do a Friday-Saturday so I can take Sunday off.

Oh yeah... Temple Campus Recreation has decided that Independent Contractors [IC's] now have to have their own liability insurance. It has been the case since I started in 2007 (and before then), that IC's were covered under Temple's insurance. I have to guess at its purpose; maybe it's a budget issue. But what I have to consider is if I want to go out and get insurance in order to work the next three months. Since I'm leaving the area (Philly) I am by association, leaving Temple as well as the YMCA. Admittedly I've had it good during my tenure as a group fitness leader, not having to concern myself with such issues.
Rt side is dominant! Fat-Boy 4-Pak! Sides are leaning out! 7-2-16
Now, if I'm planning to do this, at least in the US after I hit the road, I'll probably have to have coverage anyway. It would be good for me to experience shopping around and learning what's what in the mix, which I may do anyway. It will also instill confidence in those who might consider hiring me. So what might do, whether I go back to Temple or not - and NOT is a very real possibility that I've been mentioning in these blogs for some time - is investigate, and maybe even get some coverage. I may also be able to turn it on or off. It will certainly have to be priced strategically enough so that it pays for itself very quickly.. I wouldn't want it to be more than 10% of my expected income and that's probably being generous... heck maybe 2% is more like it.

Okay, so there are some thoughts... random I thought they would be. I've actually been going over these blogs to edit and correct and just remind myself what I'm supposed to be doing.

Let me finish out by declaring it's feckin' hot, humid and soupy and sticky today. I haven't used the AC in about 2 or 3 years, although I may turn it on for a bit today just to knock out the humidity. I try to live without it when i have it, so I won't miss it when I don't have - makes kind of a weird sense to me anyway.

Okay.. again. Time to hit the Y.
